The Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI Commission) seeks to secure equal treatment for all people in the ABA, the legal profession, and the justice system, without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity. Projects include an anti-bullying initiative, model rules of professional conduct, a newsletter and resolutions impacting LGBT people and the law. The Publications Committee’s primary function is to ensure that each Section publication appears on a timely basis, with materials appropriate to its readership, and within its broad budgetary guidelines. Among other tasks, the Special Committee on ABA Relations helps facilitate the nominations of RPTE members for leadership positions in the ABA.
