Dan Ebner has been appointed Chair for the Standing Committee on Professional Conduct by the Illinois State Bar Association for the 2020-2021 term.

The mission of the Standing Committee on Professional Conduct is to review the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct to assure that its provisions adequately address matters of professional conduct and, when deemed necessary, to recommend proposed amendments to the Rules. In addition, per the committee’s discretion, it may prepare written advisory opinions on professional conduct in response to inquiries or comments  relating to professional conduct, provided no such advisory opinion is published as an opinion of the ISBA until it has been approved by the Board of Governors.

Founded in 1877, the Illinois State Bar Association is the premier legal association in the state. As a voluntary organization of more than 28,000 members, its primary focus is to assist Illinois lawyers in the practice of law and to promote improvements in the administration of justice.

As a partner at Prather Ebner LLP, Dan represents clients in sensitive disputes, often involving family members and trusted advisors. When possible, his advice is focused on helping clients resolve their problems while preserving important relationships. When necessary, he represents clients in contentious litigation. Dan’s experience reflects his dual roles helping clients amicably settle disputes or stand up for their rights in court.
