Ray Prather has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section Council by the Illinois State Bar Association for the 2020-2021 term.

The mission of the ISBA Trusts and Estates Section is to be responsible for activities relating to the education of probate, estate planning and trust law practitioners. In addition, it serves to promote and work for the development, modernization and improvement of legislation relating to the estate planning, probate and trust areas of the law. Finally, it reviews relevant matters and issues, and studies and recommends solutions to various problems involving the public, the courts, and attorneys insofar as the areas of concern of the section are involved.

Founded in 1877, the Illinois State Bar Association is the premier legal association in the state. As a voluntary organization of more than 28,000 members, its primary focus is to assist Illinois lawyers in the practice of law and to promote improvements in the administration of justice.

A partner at Prather Ebner LLP, Ray advises clients on a wide array of issues related to administering and resolving challenges to estate plans. He represents individual and professional trustees, beneficiaries of trusts and estates, and tax-exempt organizations.
