Prather Ebner Wilson Partners Appointed to 2023 – 24 ISBA Positions — June 2023

Partners Ray Prather and Dan Ebner were appointed to three Illinois State Bar Association(ISBA) positions, and were confirmed at the organization’s annual meeting in May.

Ray Prather was appointed to serve as a member of the ISBA Standing Committee on Legislation for the 2023-24 term. The committee is responsible for committee execution oflegislative program. Ray also was appointed as a member of the Trusts & Estates Section Council; its mission includes:

  • to be responsible for activities relating to the education of probate, estate planning and trust law practitioners;
  • to promote and work for the development, modernization and improvement of legislation relating to the estate planning, probate and trust areas of the law; and
  • to review relevant matters and issues, and to study and recommend solutions to various problems involving the public, the courts, and attorneys insofar as the areas of concern of the section are involved.


Dan Ebner was appointed to serve as a member of the ISBA Standing Committee on Professional Conduct. The committee’s mission is:

  • To review the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct to assure that its provisionsadequately address matters of professional conduct and, when deemed necessary, torecommend proposed amendments to the Rules.
  • In the committee’s discretion, to prepare written advisory opinions on professionalconduct in response to inquiries or comments relating to professional conduct, providedno such advisory opinion be published as an opinion of the Association until it has beenapproved by the Board of Governors.


The ISBA serves more than 27,000 members. Ray and Dan’s responsibilities in each positioninclude attending and participating in meetings, contributing regularly to the newsletter andassisting in the development and production of CLE programs, where appropriate.
