As a trust and estate lawyer and certified public accountant with a credential in forensic accounting, Ray Prather counsels clients on a variety of issues and challenges in administering estate plans. Ray represents individual and professional trustees, beneficiaries, and tax-exempt organizations inside and outside of court.
Dan Ebner focuses his practice on representing trustees, executors, beneficiaries, nonprofit entities, and shareholders in family businesses in litigation involving wills, trusts, and breach of fiduciary duty. He also counsels clients in uncontested trust administrations, probate proceedings, and guardianships.
Landon Wilson helps individuals, families, and owners of closely-held businesses navigate estate planning and tax issues. He knows the importance that clear information provides for families on this journey, and enjoys giving his clients comfort and understanding when handling their own unique situations.
Emma joined Prather Ebner Wilson as an associate attorney in April 2023. After receiving her Masters in Tax law at Northwestern University, she began her legal career at Chicago’s Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC, where she gained experience with high – and ultra – high net worth individual estates and worked on complex fiduciary litigation.
Thomas Schroeder focuses his practice on estate planning for individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on estate planning for nontraditional couples. This includes succession planning for closely-held businesses and charitable gift arrangements. Tom has extensive experience in trust and estate law, and in assisting clients in arranging for appropriate care for aging family members, using his extensive network of contacts to meet the unique needs of each individual and each situation.
Karen assists the attorneys with various probate and non-probate matters, from submitting the necessary court filings and communicating with courthouse staff to working directly with clients during the estate administration process. She acts as a witness to all estate plan signings. Karen helps to keep the office running smoothly with her bookkeeping skills and attention to detail, and she is often the friendly voice on the phone for any incoming calls.
Gabriel assists the team as a paralegal focusing primarily on litigation. His duties include drafting notices and e-filing court documents, completing research on a wide range of legal issues, interacting with clients to assuage their needs and concerns, and communicating with courthouse staff to ensure that all rules and procedures are followed. Gabriel is also an Illinois Notary Public, assisting the firm’s estate planning clients by notarizing and witnessing various documents during signings.

Jeff Simpson joined Prather Ebner Wilson as an office manager in April 2024. He helps ensure the day-to-day operations of our firm run smoothly, helping us ensure efficient, accurate legal work.  Jeff graduated from the University of Missouri with a BFA in theater performance. After working as an office manager and customer service professional, Jeff sought a role where he could create a greater impact within an organization, which led him to our firm.
