ABOUT DAN

Dan represents clients in sensitive and contentious disputes, often involving family members and trusted advisors. He focuses on helping clients resolve their problems while preserving important relationships. Dan’s experience reflects his dual roles helping clients amicably settle disputes or stand up for their rights in court.

As an empathetic, analytical attorney, Dan brings a wealth of experience in trust, estate, and fiduciary litigation. His passion for delivering exceptional legal services is matched only by his commitment to understanding and supporting my clients throughout their work together.

Dan is particularly passionate about accounting issues and trust and estates disputes. Clients need an exceptional level of support in these areas, and often don’t realize it until the case is under way.

Since co-founding Prather Ebner Wilson in 2010, Dan has represented dozens of clients in contested and uncontested probate and trust administrations. Dan’s representations have included:

  • Disputes involving allegations of misuse of trust and estate funds,
  • Construction and validity of wills and trust agreements,
  • Elder abuse issues
  • Interests in closely held businesses held in trusts and estates
  • Other complex and unusual matters related to trusts, estates and closely-held businesses

Dan has been named as an Illinois Super Lawyer for Estate and Trust Litigation for the past four years. He has served as co-chairman of the ABA Probate & Fiduciary Litigation Committee since September 2019.
