Gabriel V. Evelyn, Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Gabriel V. Evelyn joined Prather Ebner LLP as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant in August 2020. Gabriel graduated from DePaul University with a B.A. in journalism. After discovering the Paralegal profession, Gabriel decided to cultivate his long-held passion for the law by enrolling at Wilbur Wright’s A.B.A. approved Paralegal Studies program. He officially transitioned into the legal field in 2018, first volunteering at Legal Advocates for Seniors & People with Disabilities, then working as a Special Assignments Legal Administrative Assistant & as a Project Assistant at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP before graduating with an A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies in 2019.

Gabriel is a Founding Member, Secretary/Director of Operations, Director-At-Large, and Pro Bono Coordinator of the Chicago Paralegal Association, where he strives to elevate Chicagoland & Cook County area Paralegals and the legal community as a whole by cultivating a strong, supportive, and accessible organization. He also is the creator of Umami Memories: Savoring, Story, Song, & Soul, a social media & publishing presence involving food, music, & the written word. He is a Founding Member of PanaZonians United, a non-profit aiming to preserve and celebrate the history of Panamanians who lived in the Panamá Canal Zone during its cultural height. Gabriel is also a member of the Illinois Paralegal Association, the National Association for Black Journalists, and the National Association for Hispanic Journalists.
